Do you know Halloween? I think with the increasing of international communication, most people must be familiar with it. It has become one of the most popular festivals inEurope. It falls on the last day of October. People will celebrate it from the midnight of October, 31 to November first.

At first, it is celebrated to praise autumn. So it falls on the late autumn. It also has another legend. Since a long time ago, Halloween has been connected with the ghosts. People consider that the ghosts who have no home to go will go out for food on the night of October, 31. No matter this story is true or not, people will feel afraid only hearing it. So they decide to have celebration on that day. They will light up lights to frighten the ghosts.

However, after a long time, Halloween become the day mainly for kids. Every Halloween children will put on strange masks and frightening costumes. When they finish the make up, they will carry bags from house to house to play the game, “Trick or treat”. The adults will put the treat candy into their bags. Thus, Halloween is the most favorable festival for children.

Water-splashing Festival is celebrated during April. It always lasts for three to seven days. People will pour the clean water to each other, which means to wash away the unhappiness and the bad luck during the last year, so the good things will be around. The more water people get, the more luck they will get in the coming year. So though people scream, they feel the great joy.

This festival is popular in Thailand and Dai people of China, who share the same meaning of this big day. The common festival promotes the communication between countries. 世界水日World Water Day

Though people have been always educated to save water, we can see they waste water all the time. For example, sometimes I can see children wash their hands for a long time and when they go away, they always forget to close the faucet. The most common situation I see is in the public toilet that people just walk away after using faucet and they don’t meant to close it. They are wasting water and they should be condemned. Water conservation is in need because in most part of the world, people don’t have enough water and we need water to keep alive. On March 22nd , which is a day to call for the public to save water, if not, we will face the emergent situation. So it is everybody’s duty not to waste water.

虽然人们一直都受到教育要节约用水，但是我们总是会看到人们在浪费水。比如，有时我会看到有些小孩子洗手洗了很长时间，而且离开的时候，总是忘记关闭水龙头。我看到最常见的情况是在公共厕所里，使用完后就直接离开了，完全没有要关水龙头的意识。他们浪费水，应该要受到谴责。我们需要节约用水，因为在世界的大部分地区都是水资源缺乏的，我们需要水来维持生命。而3月22号这一天，人们呼吁所有人节约用水，否则，我们将面临严重的缺水情况。每个人都有义务节约用水。
