《基础英语I》课程教学大纲
本课程教学大纲依据英语专业2012级人才培养方案制定。
一、课程说明
课程名称:基础英语课程编号:0321D2001
总学时:96学时总学分:6学分
学时分配:讲授90学时,课堂讨论 6学时
课程性质:专业必修课
先修课程:基础英语英语听力适用专业:商务英语
开课学期:第一学期
二、教学目标与要求
教学目标:
本课程是高等学校商务英语专业低年级学生的一门必修课,是其主干学科基础课。本课程传授系统的基础语言知识(语音、语法、词汇、篇章结构、语言功能意念等),训练基本语言技能(听、说、读、写、译),培养学生坚实的语言能力基础及初步运用英语进行交际的能力,同时指导学习方法,培养逻辑思维的能力,为进入高年级打下坚实的基础,同时为学生顺利通过TEM-4做好各项准备。
教学要求:
一、能够熟练运用需要掌握的词汇,掌握其变异和固定搭配;
二、能够分析负责句子的结构和简单句的不同成分;
三、能够自如运用书面语中的常用基本句型;
四、对难点句子能用简明的英语释义;
五、对课文中所涉及的英语的发展,西方文化,伦理道德有初步了解;
六、能够独立分析和理解有难度的句子及整篇文章的结构,跟上作者的思路。
教学重点:
帮助学生掌握重点词汇的运用,辨析同义词和近义词,理解词汇在不同语境下的深层含义。训练学生对常用句型的掌握,分析复杂句的句子结构和深层次含义,同事学习西方文化,了解西方当代思想,提高英语表达的精度和理解的深度。
一、单词:举例解释单词在课文的含义,列举常用的同词根派生词,简单讲解基本用法。进行近义词辨析,举例说明各近义词在意义、文体、内涵方面的区别。常用的一词多义现象还应列举该词语其它意义的不同用法。
二、词组:要求学生掌握课文中出现的所用动词词组的意义和用法,如遇一词多义现象,应着重说明。
三、构词法:对常见的构词现象作简明扼要说明,并配以相应练习。
四、句型:对课文中出现的常用或重点难点句型进行深入讲解,并配以翻译句子或造句等练习加以巩固。
五、文化背景:对课文中涉及的特殊文化现象作扼要说明。
六、难句解释:对局部或整体难懂的句子用简明的英文做出解释。
教学难点:
一、词汇量大,生词多,且课后不再附生词表。
二、课文篇幅长,文字以书面文体居多,部分句子长,结构复杂。
三、课文文化内容新鲜而深奥,需要大量背景知识才能正确深入理解。
四、对长句和复杂句式的分析、理解以及模仿。
五、段落和篇章层面对作者意图的理解,特别是迂回婉转的作者。

四、教学方法与手段
以学生为主体、教师为主导,改变过去以教师为中心的教学模式,注重培养学生的学习能力和研究能力。在教学中要多开展以任务为中心的、形式多样的教学活动。在加强基础训练的同时,采用启发式、发展式、研究式的教学方法,充分调动学生学习的积极性,激发学生的学习动机,最大限度地让学生参与学习的全过程。本课程以课堂讲授为主,要求学生课前预习,广泛查阅各种资料(包括互联网资源);课上做好笔记;课后复习,背诵课文重点段落。做到基本功扎实,在听说读写等方面全面得到训练和发展。讲课中注意知识的层层递进,具有连续性,语言点突出,讲解清晰准确,通过典型例句解释语言现象。课堂上,遵循精讲多练,以学生为主的原则,采取问答、复述、听写、讨论、讲故事、表演等有利于学生学习英语并能引发学生对英语学习兴趣的多种课堂活动的方式,以便达到教学目的。本课程是培养学生综合能力、较好地掌握各门专业课程所必需的基础课,教学时应综合运用各门学科的理论和原则,为学生专业课的学习打下良好的基础。每天除了要布置具体作业外,还要敦促学生阅读指定的课外读物,写好英文日记。教师认真检查和批改。
五、考核与成绩评定方式
学生成绩考核环节分为平时成绩和课程结业笔试形式。其中平时成绩占中成绩的30%,包括出勤率,听课,课堂讨论和习题课,作业的综合测定结果。课程的结业笔试成绩占中成绩的70%,采取闭卷笔试的方式,分为A,B卷,测试学生学习的进展情况。
